We believe this beaded medallion to be a repurposed portion of a man’s pow-wow regalia. From the style we think it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s, and Lakota Sioux from Manitoba. When it came into our possession, it had been used as a trivet for years. There is a bit of loss along the edges (you can see it on the photographs), otherwise the beading is still firm and in very good condition.
Sioux beaded medallion, 7.75″ diameter, c.1900. SOLD
