Tim Tait

Tim is a self-taught First Nations artist from Sachigo (near Sandy Lake), Ontario. He started drawing at the age of nine and was encouraged in the Woodland discipline by his parents. By twelve years of age, he was painting. Over time, his style has developed into one similar to the great Norval Morrisseau and, in fact, his paintings have, on occasion, actually been mistaken for Morrisseau’s work.

Tim Tait’s favoured medium is acrylic, which he lays down on both canvas and artists’ papers. We have a good representation of both available in colour, and also a few of his works in black and white. Many of his works come with a story, too.

The artist now lives and works in Thunder Bay.
