January UPDATE!
The Ontario government has extended the lockdown to 23 January. Contact us if you see something you would like to purchase on the site or in the shop windows, please. We would be happy to arrange for curbside delivery or mail order.
December UPDATE!
We will be closing at 2:00 p.m. Christmas Eve.
We have decided to remain closed through the Provincial lockdown (26 Dec – 9 Jan). From Jan 9 we will be open Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. If you are downtown and notice the lights are on, then someone is in working on some new projects. Try the door; if it is open, do come in. If not (this is if the lights are on, remember), call the number on the door, or give it a sharp rap. Give us a minute to get to the front – we may be a half block away in the very back room!
Please also feel free to contact us if you would like to place an order for Saturday pick-up, or have questions about our stock.
We can also arrange an appointment if you are not able to shop on Saturdays. Just use the form on the Contact page!
November UPDATE!
We are now open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for in store shopping. Please wear a mask while you visit our brick and mortar location (129 Main St. S., Kenora, ON), and practice social distancing rules. We are trying to catch up on our annual late winter shop upgrades, even though it is almost winter again, so be prepared for a somewhat more relaxed appearance as we try to catch up!
If there are cases of COVID-19 in our community, we will revert to appointment, limited numbers of browsers, or curbside delivery only. You are welcome to call us for details before visiting. We will be open until there is a general lockdown order issued. If and when that happens, we will comply, of course.
You are still welcome to Contact the bookshop with your want list and we will try to set you up with a good read. We can further assist by sending you a partial stock list of books we have in your favorite genres. Just send us a request and we will send you an updated list every month until you unsubscribe.
Our artists would be grateful for your support, too. We have cards, prints and original art for sale, nearly all of it from regional artists. If you see something you are interested in, feel free to Contact us for more photos, details, or to purchase. We can still ship or you can pick your purchase up once we receive payment.
Keep up with what is happening by subscribing to our monthly Newsletter here. You may unsubscribe anytime, but we hope you will stay with us for news of what’s new at the Darlington Gallery.
We hope you are weathering the pandemic well. So many of our customers are regular visitors, and we have come to think of you as friends. It feels strange not to have you in our lives for so long. Please do drop by when we are able to open again, and you feel confident about getting back into the world again yourselves.
Take care, and stay well!
