I’ll leave you with the review below the description, and the comment that the previous owner of this little book was a well-educated and thoughtful fellow. This book is worth getting for his notes alone!
Origin and Progress of Language. London: Religious Tract Society, n.d. (1848). 16mo. , iv, , 10-196, in black leather over boards with title and six bands gilt-stamped to spine. Edges of cover worn, corners turned a bit, spine rubbed with loss of colour in several spots. Eps foxed, p.o.n. inked UR corner ffep, his arms embossed top centre ffep, succinct and insightful notes inked in margins of just a few pages, the previous owner has written some densely packed but very neat and relevant notes through 22 of the 32 blank pages at the back of the volume, sparse underlining. An interesting copy, well used but well cared for. Reference ECB10036 $50.00
