Ridgway Teacup & Saucer

Ridgway Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent were one of the largest of England’s producers. They formed quite early, in 1744, and continued production until they were acquired by Royal Doulton in 1972.

This teacup is their elegant Savoy shape, and dates to 1848. It is unmarked, and the pattern name, to the best of my knowledge, is unknown. It’s a perfect piece with no flaws or blemishes, and would make a very lovely gift for anyone’s favourite Tea Granny!

John Ridgway (& Co.) Teacup and Saucer in pattern No. 2/9090 and the Savoy shape, dated to 1848. SOLD
