Flight Barr & Barr Tea Set 1813-1820

This set is comprised of a 4 cup teapot and underplate, coffee cup and saucer, and a teacup and saucer. The teapot is about 13.5 cm tall at the highest point of the handle, and about 25 cm from handle to spout tip. The lid has a lovely gilt flower finial. The gilding at the base and forward part of the spout is rubbed a bit, as it is also on the thumb rest part of the handle (see photos below). The interior has a very pale yellowish stain from use. I can find no other flaws on the rest of the set. The plates only have poorly impressed marks (see photos, one of which is enhanced to show more detail) that appear to bee FBB over the top part of a crown. The shape of the teapot is identical to the seaweed pattern one illustrated in Henry Sandon’s Flight & Barr Worcester Porcelain 1783-1840 (plate 99).
